| The Risk - The Next Stress Claim
As this person is not motivated to help people,
and they lack drive, this job will be extremely stressful for them. As someone who is 'in it for the money' this employee will look for shortcuts. A person who resents being told what to do
and who can’t express it will allow that resentment to build up.
This
combination of personality characteristics is fertile ground for a
stress claim that expresses the employee’s psychological sense of being
overwhelmed, as well as resentment at the organisation.
While
this is building up, this employee is also the kind of person who will
“slip under the radar”. Because they are superficially agreeable they
may not attract formal disciplinary complaints. Nonetheless, they will
inevitably be a problem. When corrected because they cut corners, this
person is unlikely to reflect on their own performance. Instead, they
will blame other people. The unexpressed resentment will lead to
quietly complaining to other staff and “white anting” the
administration.
