This type of person is often attracted to human services work because they perceive the job as having authority over others.  This is attractive because it boosts their own lack of confidence.  Enjoying being in a position of authority, with little insight into their own motivations and having a rigid approach will almost definitely cause problems with other people.  This person sees things in “black and white” terms and rarely sees the grey in between.  As this person has little insight into themselves, when there is a disagreement with others it predictably will be the other person’s fault.

Although this type of person may not always be a bully, it is a common constellation of personality factors seen in such a person.
